Luego de su reciente y trepidante novela de ciencia ficción Planetas perdidos (Altazor, 2015), Dammert sigue dando rienda suelta a su vena imaginativa, esta vez para incursionar en un género inclasificable y difícil: semblanzas de diversos momentos estelares en el devenir de la humanidad, expresados desde el punto de vista de sus protagonistas.

Como reza el texto de la solapa, “se trata de un paseo por la historia de la humanidad –desde el descubrimiento del fuego hasta el sometimiento cibernético–”. Pero un paseo muy lejos de la aridez de la reconstrucción histórica o el simple discurrir de la ficción.

Se trata de breves pero intensas reflexiones que, pese a su hipotético carácter interno, logran ser transmitidas al lector de tal manera que este acaba metiéndose en la piel del personaje de turno, ya sea real o imaginario.

Así, el lector se convierte en Gilgamesh, la diosa Atenea, el Cid Campeador, el inca Atahualpa, el mago Merlín, el astronauta Neal Armstrong y Sarah Connor (sí, la protagonista de Terminator), entre otros. Un libro que permite transitar de hombres a dioses.
