CHAVÍN
CULTURA MATRIZ DE LA CIVILIZACIÓN ANDINA. PRIMERA PARTE
TELLO, JULIO CÉSAR
In commemoration of the centenary of the first archaeological expedition to Chavín de Huántar, an icon of Peruvian culture, came together to reissue a revised and with additional graphic images of one of Dr. Tello's magnum opus. This new edition, which bears the Bicentennial Seal for the independence of Peru, greatly improves the layout, corrects several errors in the original edition and includes new graphic evidence from the Tello Archive, in the custody of the UNMSM. In 1919, the famous Peruvian archaeologist Julio César Tello began his research at the site defined by him as the center of Peru's parent culture: Chavín de Huántar. The successive expeditions that followed this exploration produced multiple works and approaches, which managed to be synthesized in this book, originally published in 1960 -after the death of the wise huarochirano-, thanks to the editorial efforts of Toribio Mejía Xesspe, his closest collaborator. This reissue corrects several errors of the first edition and includes not only new graphic evidence from the Tello Archive, in custody of the Universidad de San Marcos, but also academic articles that update the vision that one has on the culture that motivated one of the magnum opus of Doctor Tello.
